NGO Calls for States to Tighten Compliance with OECD Rules

Marking the upcoming 40th anniversary of the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, the nongovernmental organization OECD Watch has called for governments to strengthen their national contact points, which seek to resolve complaints against businesses under the Guidelines, by sanctioning companies that refuse to participate.

OECD: Companies Must Support "Living Wage" in Supply Chain

UN Network Seeks Strong UK Corporate Reporting Mandate

Désirée Abrahams of the UN Global Compact ("UNGC") Network UK has published a letter to the UK Government on its plan to transpose the EU Non-Financial Reporting Directive for corporations into law, calling on the UK to use UNGC's reporting standards, apply the reporting mandate to almost all companies, and include nongovernmental organizations in the process.

NGO: Dutch Companies Violated Global Standards in Suez Project

The Centre for Research on Multinational Corporations has published a report accusing Dutch companies involved in a recent project to widen and deepen the Suez Canal of failing to abide by "international social and environmental standards," including those promulgated by the UN and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development ("OECD").
