The UN Economic Commission for Europe and the Food and Agriculture Organization have launched a “Forests for Fashion” initiative seeking to “dress the world in wood” by pressuring companies in the fashion industry to use “renewable, biodegradable textiles” in their products rather than “fossil fuel-based” synthetic fibers.
