CoE, FIFA Signal Cooperation on Rights Agenda

At a recent meeting, President of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) Gianni Infantino and Council of Europe (CoE) Secretary General Thorbjørn Jagland agreed to develop a memorandum of understanding through which FIFA and the CoE would cooperate on "human rights" issues such as doping, match-fixing, and safety at sporting events.

Study Blames Forced Labor on "Core Dynamics" of Global Economy

A study by a group of academics and civil-society researchers links forced labor to the "core dynamics of the global economy" established by "elite-led processes of neoliberal globalisation," including economic inequality and growing "concentrations of corporate power and ownership," and calls for ramping up corporate regulations and restrictions in response.
