GRI Partners on "Sustainability" Reporting in Indo-Pacific

The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) has announced its partnership with the Australian government on a project seeking to promote corporate reporting on contributions to the global "sustainable development" agenda in the Indo-Pacific region, including by pressuring regional stock exchanges to require reporting by listed companies on "sustainability."

UN Rights Office Provides BHR Guidance for Banks

The Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights has provided broad guidance, in response to a request from a nongovernmental organization, on factors giving rise to a bank's involvement in a violation of the business and human rights (BHR) agenda, as well as its responsibility to redress such a violation and provide access to a "grievance mechanism."

Global Organizations Prepare Toolkit on Offshore Taxation

The International Monetary Fund, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, the UN, and the World Bank Group are seeking public feedback on the draft of a toolkit designed to guide developing nations in implementing taxation of offshore indirect transfers of assets, often used by businesses to lower their effective tax rates.
