NGO Criticizes UK Ruling on Overseas Oil Pollution

Amnesty International has criticized a ruling of the UK High Court that it does not have jurisdiction to review claims of Nigerian plaintiffs that energy company Shell was responsible for alleged oil pollution by the company's Nigerian subsidiary, arguing that British courts are the only forum in which the plaintiffs can obtain a remedy for such environmental harm.
