The law firm Norton Rose Fulbright and the British Institute of International and Comparative Law have published a study containing research on current corporate practice in assessing human rights impacts and making recommendations on how businesses can properly and legally perform "human rights due diligence."

GRI Launches Standards for Corporate "Sustainability" Reporting

The Global Reporting Initiative has released its Sustainability Reporting Standards, a set of global standards that will provide an outlet for corporations responding to pressure from international organizations, governments, and activists to publicly report their social and environmental impacts and contributions to the UN's "sustainable development" agenda.

UN Independent Expert on the promotion of a democratic and equitable international order Alfred de Zayas has called on UN Secretary-General-designate António Guterres, who will become UN chief in early 2017, to call a world conference on clamping down on "tax havens" to force businesses to contribute to the realization of the UN's social and environmental agenda.

World Bank Promotes Global Carbon Mechanism
