The Guardian reports that, in line with activist efforts to persuade businesses to move away from carbon-producing activities to counter global warming, insurance firm Aviva and a multinational group of investment funds recently formed a coalition to pressure large companies to phase out all use of fossil fuels in their operations.

The Nippon CSR Consortium, a Japanese organization that seeks to promote business and human rights ("BHR") issues, has issued a new version of its report "Human Rights Issues by Sector," which pushes businesses to engage in human rights dialogue and due diligence processes to further the UN's and activists' BHR agenda.
