UN Global Compact Pushes Reporting Measures at G20

At a recent meeting of the G20 group of countries in Istanbul, Turkey, Chairman of the UN Global Compact organization in Turkey Dr. Yilmaz Argüden called on G20 leaders to create laws and regulations requiring corporate reporting on the implementation of "principled business practices" and the furthering of the UN's sustainable development agenda.

Ruggie Takes Charge of FIFA's BHR Plan

Under the auspices of the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, Professor John Ruggie and his team at the nongovernmental organization Shift have accepted a request from the International Federation of Association Football ("FIFA") to develop a plan to "embed" Ruggie's UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights ("BHR") in the organization's activities.

NGOs Seek Asian "Action Plan" on Corporate Citizenship

A group of nongovernmental organization leaders have published an article calling, in the wake of the UN climate pact agreed in Paris, for a regional "action plan" from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations ("ASEAN") establishing corporate citizenship and furthering the efforts of Asian nations to combat climate change.

ISO Revises Organizational Standards on Climate Change

The International Organization for Standardization ("ISO") has announced that, following the recent UN climate-change pact agreed in Paris, it will revise accordingly its standards on "measuring, reporting and verifying greenhouse gas emissions" for corporations and other organizations.
