The U.K. National Contact Point ("NCP") for the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises has rejected a complaint filed by human rights activists against a company whose U.S. subsidiary provided security services in Guantanamo Bay, calling for the complaint to be re-filed with the U.S. NCP.

UN Ramps up Pressure on Businesses to Support Sustainability

Addressing a meeting of leaders of the UN Global Compact ("UNGC") business initiative, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon called on the UNGC and companies to promote the UN's agenda on sustainable development, which includes "restructuring" the global financial system and combating global warming.
