EC Proposes Centralized Rules for Online Services

The European Commission (EC) recently proposed a set of rules requiring online services used by European businesses to reach customers to clearly communicate their terms and conditions and establish internal complaint mechanisms, as well as setting up an EU Observatory to review "current as well as emerging issues and opportunities in the digital economy."

French Official: Eurozone Budget Is Not Negotiable

Politico reports that French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire, on the eve of an EU summit exploring eurozone reforms, has warned other eurozone governments that, for France, the introduction of a common eurozone budget to spread risk and consolidate financial authority within the bloc is "not negotiable."

EU Bodies Agree to Travel Screening Mechanism

ECJ: Entry Ban Cannot Trump Family Unification Rights

The Court of Justice of the EU (ECJ) recently ruled that an EU member state may only enforce an entry ban against a non-EU national on public policy grounds once it has considered the national's request to remain in the EU with a family member who is an EU citizen.
