EC Proposes Centralized Rules for Online Services

The European Commission (EC) recently proposed a set of rules requiring online services used by European businesses to reach customers to clearly communicate their terms and conditions and establish internal complaint mechanisms, as well as setting up an EU Observatory to review "current as well as emerging issues and opportunities in the digital economy."

French Official: Eurozone Budget Is Not Negotiable

Politico reports that French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire, on the eve of an EU summit exploring eurozone reforms, has warned other eurozone governments that, for France, the introduction of a common eurozone budget to spread risk and consolidate financial authority within the bloc is "not negotiable."

EU Bodies Agree to Travel Screening Mechanism

The Council of Europe (CoE) recently co-organized a "Barbershop" event for men in Strasbourg to determine "how men can join women in advancing gender equality and combat sexism" by recognizing and challenging "harmful gender stereotypes," including views on "manhood and masculinity."
