The European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) has held that Slovenian courts violated the human rights of a prisoner by failing to properly resolve a legislative mistake in a criminal sentencing law, effectively reducing the prisoner's sentence by ten years, to the advantage of the prisoner.

Official Pushes Back on UK Immigration Variations

The BBC reports that UK Home Secretary Amber Rudd has signaled her opposition to calls from Scottish politicians to permit Scotland to maintain a separate immigration policy from the rest of the UK after the country leaves the EU, arguing that fracturing the policy would hurt the integrity of the British immigration system and reduce the flexibility of employers.
