Reuters reports that the European Banking Authority has warned European banks are not prepared for significant changes to EU accounting rules, set to enter force in 2018, that will require them to keep more capital on hand in case of bad loans, as international banking regulators recommend that the EU push back entry into force of the new rules.

ECtHR: Hungary Violated NGO's Right to Information

The European Court of Human Rights has held that the refusal by Hungarian law enforcement authorities to disclose to a nongovernmental organization data on their selection of public defenders for the purpose of a study on the quality of the defenders' work violated the NGO's right to freedom of expression.
