The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has appointed a female, Morocco’s Princess Lalla Meryem, as the entity’s first Goodwill Ambassador, with a mission to advance women’s empowerment and protections for family and children’s rights according to the OIC’s mission of promoting the interests of the global Muslim community according to the ideals of sharia law.
