Saudi Arabia Beheads 81 in Display of Islamist Autocratic Rule

Saudi Arabia’s Islamist autocratic regime beheaded 81 men last week in what international human rights organizations characterized as the largest mass execution in the country’s history, with arbitrary application of sharia law and systemic violations of due process used to mete out convictions on a crimes ranging from support for terrorism to “distortion of the reputation of the kingdom,” as well as to target the Sunni-majority country’s Shiite minority.
