OIC and UN Chiefs Confer at Alliance of Civilizations Forum in Indonesia

The Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (“OIC”) and the Secretary General of the UN held informal discussions at this past week's Sixth Global Forum of the UN Alliance of Civilizations, with the OIC chief pushing the UN to address the plight of Muslim minorities in Myanmar, to prioritize reconstruction in Gaza strip, and to reject the equation of terrorism with Islamism.

Six British Muslim Clerics Issue Fatwa Condemning ISIS

In response to growing international criticism about the failure of Muslim religious leaders to condemn the violent extremism of IS (The Islamic State), six British Muslim clerics issued a fatwa, or religious declaration, describing ISIS as heretical, prohibiting British Muslims from joining ISIS.
