The World Uighur Congress has called on international organizations such as the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (“OIC”), the European Union (“EU”), and the UN to reinforce and support Turkey's demands for an independent inquiry into China's treatment of its Uighur Muslim population and to accept Turkey's claims that it has responsibility for what it calls the state of Eastern Turkistan, the region in China where Uighur/Turkic Muslims are concentrated.

Saudi Arabia to Host OIC Foreign Ministers Emergency Meeting on Gaza

Saudi Arabia's Minister of Foreign Affairs will chair tomorrow's emergency meeting in Jeddah of Foreign Ministers from the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation ("OIC") member-states, where the agenda will include OIC humanitarian assistance to Gaza, as well as possible responses to address widespread popular dissatisfaction in member-states that have criticized the OIC for adopting an anodyne position on the Gaza crisis.
