NGO Gives US Poor Rating on Human Rights Compliance

The Human Rights Measurement Initiative, a nongovernmental organization based in New Zealand, has released its assessment of adherence by 19 countries to the global human rights agenda, finding the US in particular scored poorly on such norms as preventing extrajudicial killings and torture, as well as the rights to food and to health.
