UN Official: Asia & Pacific Could Fail on All SDGs

Highlighting the idealistic nature of the UN’s comprehensive social and environmental wishlist contained in its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), UN Under-Secretary-General Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana has warned that the Asia and Pacific region is not on track to achieve any of the SDGs by the year 2030.

UN Seeks “Gender-Responsive” Climate Action Plans

At the recent UN Climate Change Conference in Bonn, the UN hosted an event explaining that governments must adopt a “gender-responsive” approach to their policies combating global warming “due to pervasive historical and existing inequalities” leading to greater impacts of environmental degradation on women than on men.

UN Agent: Israel Is “Bent on” Territorial Annexation

The UN Special Rapporteur charged with spotlighting Israel’s alleged human rights violations in “occupied” Palestinian territory, Michael Lynk, has characterized Israel as “an occupying power seemingly bent on further territorial annexation” and called for the global community “to hold Israel fully accountable for its actions.”
