UN Agents Push to Impose Input on US Prison Reform

Following US President Barack Obama's visit to an Oklahoma prison and remarks on criminal justice reform, two UN human rights agents have called on the President to permit them to visit US officials and facilities in order to provide expertise "to ensure that prison reforms are implemented in accordance with international human rights standards."

ICC Chamber Overrules Prosecutor on Israel Decision

Elliott Abrams of the Council on Foreign Relations writes that the International Criminal Court ("ICC") "degraded itself" to the level of the anti-Israel UN Human Rights Council when its "Pre-Trial Chamber" overruled Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda and told her to reconsider the case of a Turkish vessel attacked during an attempt to break the 2010 Israeli blockade of Gaza.
